Dairy farm with beautiful livestock
The company owns 67 hectares of its own land, and there are lease contracts on approximately 56 hectares.
In addition, there is currently approximately 10 hectares of grassland that has been made available for haymaking.
The cropping plan consists of 35 ha of maize, partly for ensiling and partly for grain maize; and 26 ha of cereals, with the remainder used as pasture.
The soil types vary from clay to light sandy soil. Thanks to irrigation across 51 hectares, yields are always guaranteed, even on sandy soils. This also makes it possible to grow crops like lamb’s lettuce or carrots.
The farm has a large 2000m² barn, which houses the entire herd. The dairy cows are housed in cubicles with mattresses. A Lely Discovery provides clean walkways and a waiting area for the milking robot. The farm is equipped with one DeLaval milking robot from 2019, which can easily handle the current number of dairy cows. The farm owns an 8000L milk tank. The milk reference capacity has been set at 725,000 liters by dairy processor LSDH.
The central feeding alley is spacious, and the Lely Juno pushes the roughage to the feed fences, so this is also automated. The dairy cattle are on one side of the barn, and the dry cows, heifers, and young stock are kept in straw-lined pens on the other.
The calves are housed in individual pens close to the robot, making them easy to feed with cow’s milk; older calves are also housed in group pens.
There are two interconnected manure tanks with a total capacity of 1500m3, which meet the applicable environmental standards.
Furthermore, there are neat trench silos for storing silage; feed silos with augers for storing concentrated feed.
Straw and hay are stored in the large 800m² shed, built in 2018. It’s equipped with solar panels , which generate a nice extra income. There’s also a solar tracker (which points solar panels at the sun), installed in 2023, which provides the farm’s own electricity needs.
Included in the sale are three tractors, all the machinery for haymaking, tillage, and sowing; a feed mixer, tipper, and flatbed trailer.
And of course the complete irrigation system including reels, pipes and pumps.
A detailed list is available upon request.
The herd consists of 75 dairy cows of very high genetic quality, registered with the UPRA for the Prim-Holstein cows and with the BGS for the Brown Swiss cows.
During milk testing, the average production has been over 10,000L per cow in recent years.
In addition, there are 30 pregnant heifers and 35 young cattle present.
The authentic house with its original outbuildings is within walking distance of the company buildings.
The house is completely detached, which offers real privacy from the company.
The village has a nursery and primary school. A school bus is available for secondary school. Other amenities include a supermarket, bakery, pharmacy, and a medical center with a general practitioner, nurses, and physiotherapist.
There is a larger town 7 kilometres away with secondary education and all necessary shops.
The company is located just 5 minutes from the A28 motorway junction, providing quick access to Tours and Le Mans. The Netherlands is less than 700 kilometers away, and the A28 allows you to avoid Paris.
In 2023, the company allowance premiums amounted to approximately EUR 39,000 per year.
